Julia & Chris’ Mountain Boulder Engagement Session – Colorado Engagement Photographer

Julia & Chris are getting married!! These two are tying the knot this fall at the Denver Botanic Gardens downtown, so they wanted something different for their engagement session. They wanted somewhere in nature, so we decided on a Boulder engagement session!

Our initial idea was Chautauqua Park and when they mentioned that they wanted mountain views, I knew we had to add on Lost Gulch as a secondary location! They got the best of both worlds: up close formations of the Flatirons at Chautauqua and gorgeous views with beautiful wintery snow at Lost Gulch! These two locations are only about 10-15 minutes from each other so they go perfectly together. Plus, there is no extra charge to shoot at them both during your Boulder engagement session! Keep in mind that both of these locations can get incredibly busy so I only shoot on weekdays in Boulder, and sparingly in the summer.

Going back to our amazing couple, aren’t Julia & Chris just adorable??? They flowed so well together and made my job feel easy. They would do exactly what I wanted them to do without me needing to ask! And their outfit choices look great! For their first outfit, they chose to go more casual; their blues really stand out against the warm grasses at Chautauqua. When we moved over to Lost Gulch, they changed into a more formal outfit, Julia’s green dress looks adorable on her! We made sure that she didn’t wear heels to Lost Gulch; there’s too many rocks to climb on, so heels can be dangerous there!

I loved getting to know Julia & Chris during their Boulder engagement session. They met on Bumble, and Chris even has a bumblebee on his engagement ring in honor of how they met! I can’t wait until their fall wedding at the Botanic Gardens this September!
