Jaylene and Alex are tying the knot this September and they wanted to celebrate with a Colorado engagement session! Jaylene and Alex live in Kansas City but they were coming out to Colorado just in time to take some portraits. On Memorial Day weekend last week, we met up during some not-so-great weather for their couples session. I crossed my fingers and said a prayer as I drove to the park in the pouring rain. Just as we started shooting, the sun came out and Colorado gave us beautiful weather for their session! Keep reading below to learn more about Jaylene and Alex’s Colorado engagement session!
When discussing a potential location, Jaylene and Alex said that they wanted mountains and trees to really get that Colorado feel. And I must say, Castlewood Canyon was the perfect venue for their portraits! The green trees and grasses stood out beautifully against the rocks of the canyon. And we even got a view of Pikes Peak!
Though the views are gorgeous, the real stand-outs of these photos are Jaylene and Alex! Aren’t they just perfect together?? Their outfits compliment each other so well and they look amazing against the gorgeous Colorado scenery around them.
Jaylene and Alex are such a fun couple. When they started seeing each other, Jaylene decided she wanted to make it official. While getting drinks at a ball game, she asked Alex when he was planning on asking her to be his girlfriend. So in the middle of the bar, Alex got down on one knee in front of a whole bunch of people and dramatically asked her to be his girlfriend! Years later, he got down on one knee again and popped the real question at Honeymoon Beach with a ring he designed himself!
Congratulations Jaylene and Alex! I can’t wait for your wedding at The Sanctuary this fall. You both radiate such happy energy together and I know the day of your wedding will be the same!
